The extracted news reported by Sify dated the 22nd April 2008 speaks of objection by the IIT’s regarding stating three new IITs.
This objection is nothing but standing in the way of spreading teacnical education of higher standard to the students envisaged by the Govt. of India. The observation of Direcor, IIT Guwahati can be appreciated as he said that IIT Guwahati was started with three teachers . This objecton raised by the IITs deserves wide condemnation and Govt. should desist from acting in accordance with their opinion and go ahead with the start of three new IITs.

New Delhi: The seven existing Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) - respected globally as institutions of excellence - had opposed the opening of three more IITs this year but the government went ahead anyway.
“We had told the (Human Resource Development) Ministry about not starting new IITs from this year, but they had a different view,” IIT Delhi Director Surendra Prasad told IANS.

Flyover track work to begin soon

PATNA: Work on the ambitious flyover track between Bakhtiarpur and Barh in Patna district is to begin soon at an estimated cost of Rs 80 crore. This project has been sanctioned by the Railway Board recently to fulfil immediate operational needs of heavy traffic on the mainline section of Danapur division under the East Central Railway (ECR).
According to sources, the Board has sanctioned this project mainly to segregate tracks for goods train services to maintain an uninterrupted coal supply to the NTPC power station at Barh, which is to be commissioned soon.
The completion of this project will enable the railways to run at least four to five coal-laden rakes daily from Tilaiya (Jharkhand) to Barh via the Rajgir-Bakhtiarpur section of Danapur division, sources said. [Read more →]

शेखपुरा शेखपुरा शहर के विकास तथा यहां नागरिक सुविधाएं बढ़ाने के लिए जिला प्रशासन ने ब्लू प्रिंट तैयार करने का काम शुरू किया है। यह ब्लू प्रिंट शहर के आम लोगों के राय, विचार पर तैयार किया जा रहा है। शहर के विकास के लिए लोगों की राय जानने के वास्ते बुधवार की शाम डीएम डा.अंजनी कुमार वर्मा की अध्यक्षता में अधिकारियों, जनप्रतिनिधियों तथा प्रबुद्ध लोगों का गोलमेज सम्मेलन आयोजित किया गया। इसमें एडीएम सुरेश चन्द्र सिन्हा, डीडीसी केदारनाथ, एसपी इन्द्रानंद मिश्रा, एसडीओ आर.लक्ष्मणन, एसडीपीओ राजेश कुमार, नगर परिषद की मुख्य वार्ड पार्षद उषा देवी, मुख्य कार्यपालक पदाधिकारी सुधांशु शेखर के अलावे व्यापारियों, सामाजिक कार्यकर्ताओं ने भी भाग लिया। बैठक की अध्यक्षता करते हुए डीएम ने शहर को साफ-सुन्दर तथा व्यवस्थित बनाने के लिए लोगों से रचनात्मक मदद मांगी। करीब तीन घंटे तक चली मैराथन बैठक में कटरा चौक स्थित बंगाली पोखर को अतिक्रमण मुक्त करके उसकी सफाई तथा घेराबंदी करके उसका सौंदर्यीकरण करने का निर्णय लिया गया। इसी प्रकार खांडपर, दाल कुआं के पास स्थित पोखर की भी सौंदर्यीकरण किया जायेगा। बैठक में शहर की सड़कों के बीचोंबीच डिभाइडर लगाया जायेगा तथा चांदनी चौक से लेकर खांडपर की सड़क पर दोनों किनारे पर लोहे की ब्राइकेटिंग की जायेगी। इसके अलावे शहर के आधा दर्जन नये स्थानों पर हाई मास्ट लाइट लगाया जायेगा जिसमें समाहरणालय तथा बाईपास में हनुमान मोड़ शामिल है। बैठक में नगर परिषद की दोषपूर्ण कर ढांचा का भी मामला प्रमुखता से उठा तथा निर्णय लिया गया कि शहर में वार्ड वार कैम्प लगाकर मकान कर तथा पानी कर का नये सिरे से निर्धारण किया जायेगा।

The news published in the dainik Jagaran of 22nd December 2007 which is copied here under regarding handing over the acquired land to the railway authorities by the District Magistrate Nalanda Shri Anand Kishore for construction of Neora-Daniawan-Biharsharif-Barbigha-Sheikhpura B.G.Line has brought hope in the minds of the people of the locality that the delayed work for the construction of this line will start soon. The District Magistrate Sheikhpura Shri Anjani Kumar Verma has also made it clear to the people that he would complete acquisition of land for the above said line after the rainy season. The rainy season has come to an end and now it is hoped he would complete the promised work of acquisition so that the construction of the line may start soon.
नेउरा, दनियावां से होते हुए बिहारशरीफ-बरबीघा रेलवे लाइन के लिए समय सीमा के भीतर बिना किसी विरोध के भू अर्जन कर सरकार को सौंपना नजीर है। इसी तरह सूबे में जिलास्तर पर शेखपुरा से जनता दरबार की शुरुआत वाले डीएम आनंद किशोर नालंदा जिले में भी साप्ताहिक जनता दरबार के माध्यम से सरकार यानी सत्ता के मानवीय चेहरे का अहसास आमजन को कराने में सफल रहे हैं।
